If you think Covid related policies have anything to do with our institutions crumbling over the past 50 years, you haven't been paying attention. Covid barely had any impact on why people are noticing how shitty their country has been.

This is one of the greatest videos I've seen on the issue. Incredible job man. I think this explains so much about distrust and the shockingly preposterous claims, red herrings, tricks, posturing, and mass manipulation being pulled for 2 years.
Nice work man! As someone who works in finding the truth in complex systems, I had a super bad feeling that Covid policy would be the exact opposite thing we should have done. If you don’t have all the data and hubris to dig deep, you often settle on an untrue hypothesis. I’ve done this too many times to count. It takes this experience to build the hubris to find the actual truth of the complex system.
I find it ironic that this guy distrusts government because it’s not perfect and sometimes gets the facts wrong, yet does not hold social media (and I presume right wing media) to the same standard?
Remember how we were told Hydroxichloriquin and Ivermectin were “miracle drugs” and that the government was suppressing information about them? That was a lie spread by social media and the right wing media. Our government actually did study these drugs and concluded (along with the makers) that they weren’t effective.
Yet he’s discounting right wing and social media influence.
I believe that the right wing, since Reagan’s era, has been pushing the narrative that government is the problem, that government is corrupt. And it is that decades long narrative that has been what’s caused the distrust of government. It’s pernicious because they use actual examples of corruption, then claim the entire system is corrupt. When the reality is that in a government as large is ours, corruption is bound to occur. But it does not follow that all of it is corrupt.
Government is “of, for, and by the people”. In other words, government is us. It is no better than us. If government is corrupt, then we are corrupt. I don’t believe that. People that claim government is corrupt have a purpose for doing so – to undermine your confidence is us so that they can gain power.
Actually, all the platforms allowed for discussion about the efficacy of the vaccine. We know this because there was plenty of conversation that didn’t get banned, including here on Breaking Points.

What is astounding is not that she already knew in December 2019. What is astounding is that the fields of health and biology went along with the lies.
We have always known that vaccination against coronaviruses is a fool's errand. We knew this especially well since MERS and SARS.

3-coronaviruses have vast animal reservoirs
The bigger lie is the one from the rabid-pro-vxers that "vaccine induced immunity is better than natural exposure", that is NEVER true.
The fact is that exposure to the natural virus stimulates a wider swath of the immune system, providing us with a broader (if imperfect) immunity, which aids in fighting future mutants.
Coronavirus vx does NOT "serve the community". Coronavirus vx barely helps a high risk individual, and does statistically nothing for a low risk individual.
Glad to hear a sane voice regarding the past two years on this channel. Krystal and Saagar lost my respect based on their terribly blind and biased coverage. They have yet to gain it back.
Rather than the government branches to work on being transparent in their information they chose to use their power to suppress free speech through technology. The only way to defeat misinformation is truth. Rather than promoting the voices of the scientists that actually work on the vaccine and other researchers (not corporate executives) they chose to attack our first amendment.

Deliberate lies from the CDC and most governments in the US.
Older people such as Biden, Pelosi and Fauci, were able to lie to the public for years. This was before the internet and social media began to develop. They still don't seem to understand that we now have all the information online including what they say and what is true. Now they seem to be baffled when we don't believe them any longer.
Seeing Biden peddle vaccines because he's a Big Pharma SALESMAN says it all.

It was always very simple to me. The case for taking the vaccine was that it was going to help keep you out of the hospital or from dying if you got covid. I never saw the CDC say you are guaranteed 100 percent not to ever get it once you take it. That part was common sense to me anyway.
I think you hit everything mentioned right on the head but you forgot to include one thing. What is it that drives these institutional decisions? MONEY!!!
It’s sad, but I’ve just basically given up on our so-called institutions. I don’t feel like any of them have our best interests in mind.

To me, for all the money spent on the CDC over the years they and our government were not prepared for a pandemic. It was a dumpster fire. I would trust them more today if they had simply stated, "We don't know for sure" or "Our best guess is" instead of making statements of fact that were later proved to be incorrect. Example- Early on in the pandemic Fauci stated masks were useless which he later did a 180 degree turnabout.
They'd be respected much more by us and we actually believe them about important things if they didn't lie to us about everything.
