Absolutely fantastic. Try adding a couple of dashes of Fee Brothers Aztec Chocolate Bitters
Can’t seem to find Demerara sugar will brown sugar be similar?
Why double strained it? Or strain it at all?
This is most elegant channel, you also look at the camera and personal like just talking to us in the bar. Thank you for being honest also about the sponsor about the Mr. Black.
Great video
the difference using Mr black and kahlua in this drink really is night and day. Fabulous cocktail
In stead of calling those crazy names, how about we call it the WMU & FMU.
Ok I just made this. Fantastic. I’ve had espresso martinis before but they were made with kahlua, Mr. Black is a MASSIVE upgrade from that. I did add some fee brothers chocolate bitters, and that elevated the cocktail to a whole new level. I highly recommend trying that out.
That's going to be my next cigar pairing
Great recipes, I make mine with Rum or, on occasion, Kraken Spiced Rum. Delicious.
Would there be any problem subbing drip coffee or cold brew? I don't have an espresso machine…
Yeah, I know it's Morgenthaler, but he's American and I don't trust these guys with coffee. Adding lemon to espresso is something that I've only seen Americans do. It's wrong. The "don't do it" wrong. I do however trust Australians with my coffee. Mr Black really is the best vodka-based coffee licor.
Made it with Pierre Ferrand Ambre and man it's delicious.
Just made this after trying it at a bar yesterday for the first time used the absolute vanilla was a nice addition to the flavour
Your graphics make me wipe the screen. Stop it.
I am so jealous, by the time this video was released I was a year out of the bottle of mr.Black I brought back to Canada from Australia…my favourite coffee liqueur
Definitely gonna do the cognac version!
If the “famous model” origin is true, I’d bet good money on that being Naomi Campbell!!!!!
What espresso machine is that?!
My nespresso isn’t cutting it and I want my cocktail to look like yours haha
Loved Anders Erickson explaining the history and stories of cocktails
Thanks for your channel. You are both a pleasure to watch. As I am new to cocktails, it has been a sensational resource. Dumb question from a rookie …… Is getting a nice foam on the top of the cocktail as simple as just shaking hard or is there something I am missing? Had a few goes but the foam layer does not have the depth of yours.
I drank an Espresso Martini with brandy a few days ago, which was really delicious. So it's already 3 versions. ;D
Holy. Cognac??? I never would’ve thought to experiment with the two.
Excited to try this one out for sure!
i will defenetly do the second one <3
Very interesting. Thank you for sharing your recipes. I have a couple of questions. Considering that, unlike Kahlua, Mr Black is made with vodka instead of rum, shouldn't one swap the vodka with rum in the cocktail? Would the use of cognac still work with a Kahlua-based espresso martini?
I put baileys Irish cream instead of coffee liqueur… so good
I'm a bar manager in downtown Chicago, we put 3 different espresso martinis on draught. Let me just say it was a pain in the ass to set up. But once you get it working and get it nice and foamy, it's a huge hit.
We tried one with a Reposado and it's fantastic. Repo and coffee is actually a great flavour combination.
Thank you Anders!! I followed your recipe making espresso martini with vsop. Fabulous! I love the lemon peel oil. So fresh !!
When I was distilling (semi-legally…I have a chemical engineering degree with a specialization in fermented and distilled beverages…yes, really…and I did a lot of "homework"), I was making a coffee liqueur on a 170 proof rum-ish base (cut to 70 proof for the final product), that was a massive hit with everyone. I still occasionally run into people I haven't seen for nearly 10 years asking if I can give them more of that "coffee booze"… This Mr. Black sounds like it might be similar to it (not too sweet), I must try it.
I won't even start on how much unmitigated rage I am filled with when I hear of sweet drinks referred to as "martinis", but I did once have an espresso "martini" at a high-brow restaurant in downtown Roanoke that was made with Zubrowka Bison Grass vodka. It sounds weird, but the soft vanilla component of Zubrowka played so well in the drink I still remember it now…a year or more later. That's saying something. If you ever have the chance, I bet the Zubrowka would be amazing in this very recipe…
What kind of cognac do you use?
I love a dirty martini
Love expresso martini
Amazing! Only thing is espresso shots expire within 10 seconds if not added in, so don't let it cool alone too long.
In Italy our espresso is way too strong for the cocktail
I don't add NY coffee liqueur but instead frangelico with a bit of cream
Don Giannatti was the famous model
Love the channel and enjoying working my way through the recipes. We always have our espresso martini with rum rather than vodka, especially diplomatico reserva from Venezuela. Lovely
Nice Video! I Love to swap the vodka with slightly peated Scotch like Talisker.
