Visited both couple of times and there is no comparison, Hagia Sophia is the most magnificent building in Istanbul…even though we will never know what it actually looked like in its original form as a cathedral. I can’t imagine how beautiful the interior looked like before crusaders turned it into an empty shell

Sinan simply copied Hagia Sophia and the Christian tradition, as that's what he was used to from his Christian background 🙂

I got the chance to visit it once, such a spiritual & amazing mosque!!!
The mosaics should have been protected and respected but obviously not because they were Lunatics' who stole it and took it over. That entire building and should have been protected if those lunatics had a heart. History is History. It was CHRISTIAN first. Everything IN it should have been respected even after they took it over because it was religious grounds. Those who destroyed it back then and those in Istanbul who want it fully converted into a mosque by destroying anything Christian IN it will be judged by our Father above. Regardless, I have seen it in person, the feeling of GOD aka JESUS shines through it regardless!

If Mimar Sinan was brought in when hevwas a child and he should have been converted to islam when he was very young and would be made uo of islamic value of quraan and hadith… so his work would also be based on islamic culture.

Hagia Sophia, even though it was buit a thousand years before, is a far superior monument. When visiting the area, one can clearly witness that. Goes to show that people in antiquity could perform miracles.
