How long does this tour take?
Was on that a couple of years ago, unfortunately it was in the summer. The queues went almost around the corner of the building. (Had I known what awaits me, I wouldn't have gone). Once you got in, it was very crowded, the layout of the building is not really well suited for large crowds.
The "informative" portions of the "experience" are mostly stuffed away in small corners or too small rooms, so you don't get to "experience" them properly without blocking the flow of masses. They eventually get you to a "beertender" that shows the "proper" way to drink a Heineken. That person shakes the ** out of the beer so it foams and blah blah blah talks about their beer not being "yellow" or "amber" but "golden".. like the medals… I was so tempted to shout out that it looked like piss to me. Decided not to disturb though. After that portion there was some activity rooms, where you could test your strength, how hard you can push a doll (rugby thing) etc.
I also recall a sort of "virtual rollercoaster" ride at one time (supposed to simulate the "life of a bottle" in the factory), where you stand on a platform that shakes, and you watch a short movie. Water sprays on you a few times and that's it. I was standing on one of the sides of the platform, and the water sprays didn't hit me, it was too badly calibrated or just too worn down, whatever it was, i felt left out of the "experience".
TLDR: Don't waste your time or money. Not that fun, or informative.
Now I see that I haven't missed anything by never visiting.
The idea of visiting a closed brewery never made any sense to me.
Better to invest the entry fee in buying some beer at a supermarket/bar or, if you just must, taking that "beer bike" tour.
