This is so bad
"50 is the magic number", thanks for that. My stir game will be on point now. I never liked the Vodka Martini, but the Gin and Vermouth…hits the spot. (with some orange bitters)
I wanna fill it 2/3s, she said, filling it to the rim.
This is a mess
4 oz gin looks not good… something not right here
Way too much vermouth.
stupid woman
I love the martini. Beefeaters makes a delicious martini. I'd use much less vermouth but I do prefer Noilly Prat. If you know who Nick and Nora were then most likely you've had a martini. A martini (or two) is the perfect cocktail for the serious drinker.
Is this a joke?
I had to check to make sure this wasn't The Onion
I'm sorry, but Beefeater is the most vile gin I have ever tasted. Hendricks is so much better (even though it is about double the price).
Everything that matter she does wrong. Everything that does not matter, she makes a big deal about. Wow, and when she started to smack that ice. jeeez just wtf
Not only does the ice not matter but the choice of gin couldn't have been worse. Also, very amature spilling the pour
4oz of gin… this lady made 2 martinis and just put it in one glass.. I live in Canada and work as a bartender I am not legally allowed to serve someone 4oz of any spirit at once..
Here's a real martini recipe
2oz gin (Bombay is a nice midrange gin)
Anywhere between 0.25 to 1 oz of dry vermouth (dolins) it's really up to personal preference some people just do a rinse.
Maybe .25 Olive juice if u like it dirty
Stir that for roughly 15 seconds
Garnish with a lemon peel express the oils over the drink.
Make sure your ice is separate from the other stuff in your freezer I recommend storing it in a Ziploc bag, otherwise the ice will pick up flavours of whats around it which usually ends up being frozen meat…
She forgot to look towards Italy
I'd never use Beefeater for a martini. I'd probably never use Beefeater at all. There's much better gin for your money out there. You could probably also just get away with a 3 ounce martini and not worry about having any left over.
Please, DONT missinform new Bartenders. A Martini with 4 oz. of Gin is way to strong! Who drinks a second one? The Bar itself loses money everytime a Guest gets drunk after only one drink.
Beefeater? ''Fill to tension''? ''Crack the ice with your barspoon''?
My tips:
Grab a decent Gin, and try buying local, I'm sure there are some AMAZING distilleries in your area and even GREAT gin doesn't cost an arm and a leg
Unless you're trying to show off (which you don't if you spill), grab one of those 4oz. mini measuring cups, they're not even 3 bucks and one will serve all your cocktail needs.
As long as your ice isn't watery it doesn't matter, just stir and taste for dilution (using a straw you dip into the drink and plug with your finger, if you're serving someone else), you'll only need to do this 3-4 times before you're confident how long to stir with your icecubes/personnal taste
and, unless you're confident you'd rather drink a bucket of gin than a cocktail, significantly up the Vermouth.
I love Bon App', been subscribed to their mag for quite a few months now and love their videos, but this video didn't do the cocktail justice.
U wasting half of it lady…need to learn to serve
"i tasted them together before" yeah probably at the beginning of the video, a little too much
Okay that is way too much alcohol
Credibility lost when I saw the Beefeater. This is not a gin worthy of a martini!
All that spillage. Did you slam 2 or 3 martinis before making this video?
How to Make a Classic Martini… NOT!
She looks scared.
4 ounces of gin? holy…
Pro tip… It does not matter what kind of ice you are using. Especially ridiculous in this case since you suggest using a special mold to make big cubes that you then destroy.
Holy shit, this woman is a mess. Wasteful and clumsy with her pour.
1 year late but still first
