Boy was i wrong
any ideas why my coffee comes out sputtering immediately?
Is the burner on the highest setting? I've heard highest I've also heard use the lowest setting. Not quite sure what to do
I just bought one yesterday and just used it 10 mins ago. Taste very good.
Love it! Quick and clear explanations. I did my own coffe after this video, it was my first time using a moka pot. I actually was a bit afraid because the bad reputation it had. Thanks!
Now I know why I didn't like my stovetop expresso maker so much! Goting to find my nice maker and try this "new" way out! Thank you for sharing!
Could you cold it down with the ice ? .
I have an original Biatetti grub the 70s and still use it. You can't fill the coffee bin all the way, even at coarse grind, or the steam does not push through.
CAFETERA
So nice
For lazy people like me.
On an induction stove, heats so quickly I use cold water.
Just pour the coffee. Gets it away from steam as quickly as cooling the base.
I’m using store ground coffee too.
But do use the aerator to froth the milk after microwaving it in the base while coffee perks. Worth it.
Too much effort
Wow on the bialetti instructions it said use cold water.
You can see that they are professionals in their field.
damn i like the right guy
Wow, didn't know this is the proper way of making coffee with the moka pot… thanks! I've been using room-temp water all the time
Мока -лучший вариант для дома.
I'll give it a try, thanks!
Im trying out mine for the first time now
My coffee never brews as slowly as I see it on the video, why could this be?
Thats alot of coffee grounds for a small pot !
How would you recommend sweetening the coffee?
getting mine back out tomorrow
Love the aero press filter suggestion. I finally made a decent coffee thanks to this video. Used a light roast at a slightly coarser grind. Worked out well, thanks!
Very interesting, have you ever thought of veridficare The moka of Alessi? I used for years the model "Espresso Coffee Maker 9090" of which I am satisfied.
The greatest thing of Moka pot videos, is that subject to the presenter it's great to use hot water or cold water, to press the coffee or not, to fill up fully the filter or even add a bit of a mountain on top, to wash the pot or to just rinse it…
I make it very bitter in purpose is that ok? (i mean, healthwise, maybe i dont know)
So evidently these are a pita to use properly at altitude lol. 20 minutes or so to bring a pot to a boil, and then bringing the moka pot back up to temp is another good five to ten minutes.
So now I have to decide between a pot of coffee that lasts all day but brews in minutes, or just the one cup I desire in about a half hour lmao.
A nice simple method. I like the way you don't get into fiddling about with scales to weigh the coffee.
the dude looks irritated and gives like those little kid who doesn't wanna listen to his elders advice. Pretty much the dude just reminds me of an unappreciated brat
Well done, guys. Beginning with the hot water was a big trick.
Awesome.
Great video! I just picked one of these up as I've always been curious, and you've started me out on the right foot. I've been religiously using an aeropress for 8+ years now, and this definitely comes out more similar to espresso, and I even use the fancy third-party valve bottom + stainless filter + paper filter and get way more pressure than a standard aero press. The moka pot made cheapo Eight O'clock original roast taste like a lighter roast espresso (wanted to use cheaper stuff for the initial throw-away batch they recommend in the instructions). I am about to over-caffeinate to see how espresso beans turn out 😉
It is a bit more of a hassle to use and clean than the aeropress, but not immensely so. And sometimes that extra time and ritual aspect can improve the experience. It's also great that this will easily outlive me, which can't be said of most kitchen gadgets. It fits right in with my cast iron collection 🙂
I love the idea that I can get a larger pot and use the same process when I host and need to make more than one cup (well, 3 "moka cups", but they are all mine…). It's also nice to know I could easily use this with a little camping burner if I lose electricity (or actually ever go camping).
I also have a large glass percolator that I have been frustrated with for being too slow, and I think this kettle hot water trick will also work here to speed things up. This video has improved my coffee-making options for sure.
Im still getting inconsistent results. I have the 4 cup size, but I just use it for me. Do I still need to fill it up to the safety valve for 1 cup?
My dilemma is when I do that, I get up to 4 intense shots. Oddly, when I reduce the water (because I dont want to waste any coffee), it becomes reaaaally light.
How do I get a good intense cup without wasting coffeee on my moka pot?
Whoa… just like that. I did it, using hot water and cooling the bottom part with cold water when hearing that sound… no bitterness in my morning latte! Thank you for the video!!
Do you use high heat when you put it on the burner? Great video, thank you!
