Şerefe! you look like a dumb!
and if whant to know how to drink martini, y need to come Krichev!
I recently bought a bottle of Cinzano Bianco, only because they didn’t have any Noilly Prat. I can confirm that a martini one part Cinzano to six parts Absolut vodka with a lemon twist is pretty damn good.
my dude, you need to do a new basic Martini episode. not that I'm against baby Greg, but still…
Am I wrong to like a bit of both?
2 oz. Tanqueray
1 oz. French Vermouth
2 Dashes Orange Bitters
Stir
Garnish with Orange Twist
That is Heaven!
James Bond wants his Martini Shaken, Not Stirred
Points to old Martini "This is brilliant"
Holds up new one "But I like this"
you hold the glass by the STEMWARE. Holding it that way warms the cocktail.
I do not understand the appeal of this drink at all.
My great grandpa liked his martinis with vodka and he liked to show the bottle of vermouth to the martini
“DOUBLE FISTING”
Why is it that most martini recipes call for about 3 ozs of combined ingredients but most martini glasses hold about 4-6ozs?

The first multiple drink episode of How to Drink! I've finally found this bit of history! I think I've been searching too long, but still… Yay!
Shaken not stirred
why no olive garnish?
This is the 33rd video.
I make my dry martinis with 6 parts gin and 1 part vermouth (of the Martini brand). I always thought that was the “official” recipe. Curiously enough, I don’t really like gin or vermouth by itself (with the exception of one brand of gin), but I like this drink.
bom.
I just tried both of these recipes using Oushkabé Gin Tourbé (Peated Gin). The peat and the absinthe tasted like a pile of shit disguised as a cocktail, but the Dry Martini wasn't half bad. I'm still looking for the ideal cocktail recipe for a peated gin, though. I thought I was going to like this a lot more than I do, just going from my Scotch tastes…
Bottle change at 1:33 haha. Good video. I agree with your notion of “dry” referring to type of gin as opposed to amount of vermouth
This man makes martinis like a coward. I will teach you how to make the perfect martini…
Step 1: pour chilled gin into glass
my first martini hit me like a truck… almost i remember that day… actually i only remember when i got the martini and drink it
When I was younger, vermouth smelled and tasted like the juice that accumulates at the bottom of a fast food trash can. That changed over the years, not sure why. But until that changed, I couldn't stand a martini with the standard amount of vermouth.
Is that a seiko skx007 on your wrist there I spy?
@Howtodrink Where do you get your research from! I love cocktail lore and would love to learn more!!
Those look so delicious. And those glasses, damn! I need to find a job soon and start making them sweet recipes!
if you're bashing the amount of vermouth someone else likes in their martini, you aren't sophisticated, you're annoying
Thank you for this, because of you I'm sitting with the best martini I've ever made.
One question, what orange bitter would you recomend?
Did you STIRE THE MARTINI?!!!!!
I SAID FUCKING SHAKEN NOT STIRRREEEEEED
Your video's are the best cocktail videos I've seen, for many reasons.
I love the second martini you made. It has become my favorite drink. My Father was always a "A martini is gin, with a "splash" of vermouth" and while Aviation Gin made that kinda work it was a glorified shot of gin. I picked up a bottle of Oregon Spirit Absinthe, Dolin rouge vermouth, and Aviation old tom gin, and oh man is it good!
Simple to make, great to drink, just a perfect drink, thank you!
GET A JOB
My grandpa's favorite cocktail is where you fill the glass with whisky and whisper "vermouth" over the top of the glass.
This channel is so great
Question, what if the vermouth isn’t french? Also can you replace the harder spirit for something else? I’m not TOO partial to gin but if it is replaceable then why not.
Ummm, so many things wrong here. Call me. Let’s have a Martini-off.
I like a 3 to 1 ratio, with Tanqueray #10, since that has citrus is it. And 4 olives. I'll have to try some of the variations
.
2:36 "That's-ss-ss…"
Not drinking that was realy hard
Why use olive in martini
Lies.
Much Respect for making a video on martinis and NOT going for the used up "shaken not stirred" reference.
Greg! Could you please make a video, showing us your take on a lychee martini? Would be unreal!
Make sailor moon drinks please
Ahrange
My martini: Brand loyalty is a must. One part Noilly Prat, three parts New Amsterdam gin over ice. I prefer shaking to stirring. Strain into thoroughly chilled glass. Add a few drops of lemon juice. I've tried it so many ways I'm almost ashamed how much gin I've consumed… New Amsterdam gin is a great gin for it's price point. Noilly Prat has a more floral tone… The two combine incredible flavor and refreshment. The squirt of lemon gives a completing citrus edge. I love olives but they taste nasty with my concoction. Trust me, citrus all the way. It's a simple home mix with no fancy equipment required.
