What can I do for the environment?
My mother taught me to add a little flour to the mixture, just enough to bind it and keep the dumplings from falling apart. Your recipe is what we called Tiroler Speck Knoedel. If you have left over Knoedel, we used to cut them in half and slice them, roast them in oil or butter in the frying pan with or without some beaten eggs poured over them. They taste great with a salad or with apple sauce on the side.

Potato dumplings video was perfect. My Mother was German. From Frankfurt.
She passed in 2012 she moved to the states after marrying my father in 1955 Each year
She made traditional German Rouladen for our Christmas Eve dinner with these dumplings too.this was a special occasion dinner for a family of seven on a
Strict budget. I now have 5 sisters and each of us have continued this tradition in our homes. Our children love it and are now grown. My son in-law and his parents absolutely love this! Each of them wanting to be taught to make this dish to continue the tradition in their homes.
This reminds me of matza balls. Eggs are the key than left over flour products. Matza cracker
Finally there is somebody making German food line. Love the recipes, easy to make. Volume is very quite, really hard to hear you, and if I’m working out and watching your recipes then I’m just looking at the picture because no matter how loud I put it I can’t hear you

Ah yes, Barbara….definitely a favorite, I grew up with…SemmelKnodel. My Mother would make these for Sunday Supper, with Pork Roast and Gravy….so good!
I was born in Germany but grew up in the UK, now that I’m an adult I wish I’d made more of an effort to learn how to cook German food when I was growing up.
Love it! I miss Munich.
