Try the burbon sazarac!
Its my favourite…
But Im gonna visit NewOrleans to make sure!
Any recommendations while Im in the area?
BR & Thanks
Probably the best cocktail in this style, I love the Saz
vid suggestion: how to get absinthe into an atomizer without wasting a single drop
My favorite! Rye all the way.
Thanks a million great cideo
Loved your video. Thank you for educating us! I made a small alteration and swapped absinthe with mastic. I was really pleasantly surprised with the result.
both are great! 🙂 in fact, i have client who has been drinking Sazerac for more than 10 years and wants it half with rye and half with cognac (30 ml. each). i also add 1 dash of angostura bitters! 🙂
Excellent info thanks for this!
Wouldn’t it make more sense to chill the glass and then spray in the absinthe so you don’t throw most of it out with the ice?
Barrel strength bourbon makes a great sazerac if you keep the ice in the drink a little longer to slightly dilute it
Thanks for the history lesson on why it as made with Rye Whiskey. I love stuff like that!
Ok, I just made the rye version of this cocktail. It was good, spicy. But the cognac version is better. I could drink 10 of these!!!!
I'm going to have to make both side by side to compare them. Great job on the closeups as always.
can you use burbon
If you can't decide whether Rye or Cognac is the one to go, make a…yeah just like you said it starting at 9:12 a batch of 50-50 both and then measure 2oz of it. This is a super stylish drink. Atomizers here are the beast as well.
Love a sazerac! I've seen people make it with bourbon as well. Or even split the spirit component between them.
Love all variants of the Sazerac (spirit, sugar, peychaud, absinthe, twist of lemon). Love a cask strength lot 40 or Knob Creek for a long winter time sip, reading. Summer I tend to prefer the rye/cognac split and in the fall I love Calvados(apple brandy, not liqueur) which is superb with a slice of apple pie…. BTW a cheat for more anise aroma without breaking the bank is do a gentle grating of a star anise. As always great video!!
This video was awesome. So informative and fun. Great job man!
About the Peychaud's bitters is your bottle 200 ml, because looks bigger than the ones I have seen in Europe?
Thanks for making both versions! They are definitely two very different tasting drinks, but I am partial to the whiskey version. I like that extra bite to my sazerac!
i spent a lot of time in new orleans for work, and i've had both the classic and modern versions of the sazerac. my favorite's gotta be the modern, but i'm a whiskey kinda guy. nice video!
These are two really good cocktails, I preferred the rye version. What do you think?
David, great video as usual. I've had the cognac version, with 5mil of southern comfort added. I'm going to have to try the rye version, it looks good. (You need a good campari rinse to clean out your tubes!!!)
Classic, just picked up a bottle of Peychauds yesterday! Thanks David
Hey now! An oldie but a goody!! Thanks
